About
Verlinvest is a Brussels-based investment company founded in 1995 and funded by the capital of families historically shareholders of AB InBev. It is not a traditional closed-end fund: it invests with permanent capital, following three strategies, Growth, Platform, and Venture via V3 Ventures. Its thesis covers consumer-oriented brands and services in food, health, consumer technology, and lifestyle. The group reports €2.5 billion under management; its official portfolio includes 69 investments, with 42 active companies and 27 alumni. It operates from seed to buyout but does not publish a check size range. Oatly, Chewy, Vita Coco, Tony’s Chocolonely, Purplle, and Who Gives A Crap are among its historical or current investments. In France, Verlinvest is present in Clone, Cuure, Cible Skin, KaraFun Group, and HomeExchange, following Frichti. Recent operations show two approaches: minority growth capital in Cible Skin and takeovers, with Vendis on KaraFun Group and with Ternel on HomeExchange. For a consumer brand or platform that has already found its market, the differentiator is therefore less a standardized check than an evergreen shareholder capable of supporting internationalization and growth capital operations.
