About

Société Générale Ventures is the venture capital arm of the Société Générale group, created at the end of 2018 in Paris to consolidate the bank's startup investments since 2015. It invests from the group's balance sheet, without raising funds from third parties, and gathers minority stakes in external startups, with check sizes from €1M to €10M in Series A and B, startups created internally by employees, consortia with other banks, and subscriptions in venture capital funds. It targets banking sectors: fintech, insurance, payments, crypto-assets, mobility, and real estate. In 2021, it had invested around €200M in 35 holdings; the bank also acquired Treezor in 2019 and took a majority stake in Reezocar in 2020. In the database, it appears in the rounds of Fintecture, followed in 2021 and 2022, Opensee, Qarnot Computing, Ecotree, AML Factory, Oxalys, Lafreto, or The Big Whales. For a fintech aiming at the bank as a client or distributor, it is a shareholder that opens the doors to a large banking group.
