About

Portage is the fintech platform of Sagard, the alternative asset manager of Power Corporation, and one of the major investors specializing in fintech worldwide, from seed to late-stage rounds. Founded in 2016 within the Power Financial ecosystem, alongside insurer Great-West Lifeco and manager IGM Financial, then opened to external investors, it claims $7 billion in assets under management by mid-2026. Its fourth venture fund, approximately $600 million, was closed in September 2026 with new strategic American subscribers like Broadridge and Fifth Third; alongside, a vehicle dedicated to late-stage rounds and the management of Point72 Ventures' fintech portfolio. The co-founder and CEO is Adam Felesky. Portfolio: Wealthsimple, Koho, Borrowell, Nesto, Conquest Planning. France is a base, not a stopover: Portage has an office on Avenue George V and a portfolio covering insurance, payment, and financial management: Alan from its Series A in 2018, Acheel, Pledg, Mooncard, Orus, Najar, and Formance in 2025. For a fintech or insurtech founder, it's the proximity to a large insurance and asset management group, a shareholder of the platform, which a generalist fund cannot offer.
