About

Océan Participations is the private equity firm of Crédit Mutuel Océan, established in 1988 and based in La Roche-sur-Yon, which invests equity in SMEs in Vendée, Charente-Maritime, and Deux-Sèvres. The capital comes from the federal branches of Crédit Mutuel Océan and Maine-Anjou Basse-Normandie: no funds raised, no liquidation date, thus long holding periods negotiated on a case-by-case basis. €95M under management, over 260 companies backed, 95 investments in the portfolio. Check sizes up to €3M, generally minority stakes, across three areas: transmission and acquisition, internal and external growth, capital reclassification. Innovation capital represents only a limited part of the activity, but it is significant: Lhyfe (green hydrogen, IPO in 2022), Elixir Aircraft, Enerdigit, PH Tech, Zetaly. Exits: Cogelec (IPO 2018), Europe Snacks, HelloAsso. For a founder in the Greater West, it is a local shareholder with patient capital, more comfortable with a company already making money than with a highly dilutive seed stage.
