About

Lead Edge Capital has made direct prospecting its method: the New York fund claims a "Moneyball" approach based on cold calling software and internet companies, whether they are bootstrapped or already backed by funds, before offering them a growth round. Founded in 2011 by Mitchell Green, who previously worked at Bessemer and Tiger Management, it reported $6.8 billion in assets under management to the U.S. regulator in April 2026 and relies on a network of about 700 strategic LPs. More than a hundred companies funded and over sixty exits since inception, from New York, Santa Barbara, and London. Portfolio: Alibaba, Spotify, Uber, Toast, Asana, Duo Security, Grafana Labs, Wise. France entered its history very early, with BlaBlaCar, supported over three rounds from 2012 to 2015, and Algolia in 2015; more recently, Lead Edge led the €30 million Series A of Youtrust, the former Yousign, in 2021, before reinvesting in 2024. For a bootstrapped or minimally diluted software founder considering a first growth raise, it is a partner that often comes on its own and knows how to support up to an IPO.
