About

Défense Angels is a network of business angels dedicated to sovereignty technologies and dual-use technologies: defense, security, space, nuclear, cybersecurity, AI, quantum, and robotics. A member of France Angels, it was launched in February 2022 by Guy Gourevitch, former president of France Angels, and François Mattens, and has eight regional delegations. Its 130 members invest in pre-seed and seed stages, directly by bringing their operational experience, or through a collective vehicle, Angels Strategic Capital; the network maintains relationships with the Directorate General of Armaments, the Defense Innovation Agency, and the armed forces. It claims 28 startups funded and over 1,000 applications received. The portfolio includes Eclore Actuators, joined during its €3M seed round in 2026 with Bpifrance and UI Investissement, Seaber, alongside Breizh Up, Aerix Systems, AITHRA, Kwan-Tek, Hymag’In, or Drone Geofencing. For a defense or dual-use technology startup, it is a network that knows the public clients in the sector.
