About

Databricks Ventures is the corporate VC of Databricks, a Data + AI platform based in San Francisco, launched in December 2021 to develop the company's ecosystem. It does not lead rounds, does not take a board seat, and invests as a minority alongside an institutional lead, from seed to growth. In exchange for capital, the portfolio companies gain access to the product roadmap, technical teams, mentor network, and Databricks' go-to-market programs: the investment thus serves the co-development of joint offerings rather than a generalist financial portfolio. After the Lakehouse Fund, the group launched the Databricks AI Fund in 2024 for companies that use or extend its platform. The official portfolio includes 52 companies, including Mistral AI, Perplexity, Glean, LangChain, Replit, Neon, Tecton, and Tsuga; ten have already been acquired, notably Arcion, Neon, and Tecton by Databricks, Galileo by Cisco, and Voyage AI by MongoDB. In France, Databricks Ventures has invested in Mistral AI, Adaptive ML, and Tsuga.
