About

Compagnie Nationale à Portefeuille is the unlisted investment holding of the Frère family, based in Loverval, Belgium, and exclusively controlled by them through Frère-Bourgeois Holding; it forms one of the two pillars of the family group along with Groupe Bruxelles Lambert. As a permanent capital investor, it takes significant and long-term stakes in European companies, whether leaders or emerging, mainly in Belgium and France, across about fifteen sectors, from water and circular economy to space, fintech, and luxury. Since July 2023, it has reported a revalued net asset of approximately €3 billion and is the majority shareholder of CLS, a Toulouse-based specialist in satellite localization, targeted in July 2026 by an offer from MDA Space. In venture capital, it invested in November 2022 in the €34 million Series A of Fairmat, which recycles carbon fiber composites, and then followed the company in April 2025 during its €51.5 million round, led by Bpifrance and Slate VC with Temasek and Pictet.
