Wallonie Entreprendre (WE) is the public investment and financing giant of the Walloon Region (Belgium). WE acts as a "Super-Invest" or sovereign wealth fund on a regional scale. It is a "One-Stop Shop" that supports companies at every stage of their life cycle: from the very first check in a startup (via its W.IN.G vehicle) to massive industrial loans, guarantees for bank loans, and equity for international expansion. Their goal is economic development, but they operate with a professional investor mindset (seeking ROI) often co-investing with private VCs. They invest in international companies (e.g., French or US) IF there is a significant economic footprint in Wallonia: opening a subsidiary, an R&D center, or a factory.
